Tempurpedic mattresses have made a breakthrough in technology creating a memory foam they have named the TEMPUR mattress material. Many other companies have created a similar formula of the memory foam (viscoelastic).
Other Memory Foam Mattress Brands
When Tempurpedic came out with their visco elastic memory foam mattresses other companies started introducing their versions. Most of the companies use foams that are manufactured in China. The memory foam used by other brands does not have the density that the Tempurpedic mattress has. The density of the memory foam is what provides support to the body and the durability of the product. Instead they add low cost fillers and this reduces the durability and the beneficial results of the mattress.

Tempurpedic mattresses are the only viscoelastic company given the Ease-Of-Use commendation by the Arthritis Foundation. They have found that the Tempurpedic mattress material formula is beneficial in relieving the painful pressure points during sleep. Also Tempur pedic is the only mattress company recognized by NASA and is certified by the Space Foundation. NASA was actually the one that originally had the famous formula developed. It was created to relieve the tremendous gravitational forces experienced by astronauts during take off. Tempurpedic then refined the technology and released it to the public creating the Tempurpedic mattress. All Tempur-pedic products are manufactured in the USA.
Tempur-Pedic vs Other Memory Foam Brands
Tempurpedic uses a much higher density formula than most other brands of visco foam mattresses and feels somewhat more conforming than most. When compared to Simmons Comforpedic, Sealy True Form and the Serta True Response, the Tempurpedic will usually win out when comparing each on support and pressure relief. But which to choose depends entirely on the individual and whether or not they like the feel of the Tempur-Pedic mattress. It is different than everything else and may take some adjustment time. Try all other brands as a comparison to Tempurpedic and decide which will work best for you.
